DAY 106 OF MY PHOTO CHALLENGE...
-THE ALMOND BLOSSOM FESTIVAL-
I couldn't pick just one photo to represent a wonderful day out with my kids... This festival marks the beginning of the almond blossoms and the ending of winter... bring on spring only 2 weeks to go! We had a wonderful time eating donuts and going on rides... I hope my photographs convey that!
DAY 105 OF MY 365 DAY PHOTO CHALLENGE...
Happy 79th Birthday George Mclaren
My Grandfather is an amazing man who has lived an amazing life, he tells me stories of times gone by and I am constantly amazed at the many changes life has presented him during his days on Earth... technological advancement, trends, laws, lifestyles and many other fads and inventions which had spanned his lifetime... just think cars, records, tape decks, cd's videos, DVDs, blu ray, pc's, laptops, mobile phones... not to mention the growth of the world, the buildings and infrastructure, the fashions, the jobs and the need to learn, adapt and grow... and he has!!! he's onto it in a big way... got his gadgets and his solar and ask him to email or anything like that and he can do it in a heart beat, so today I honor my grandpa - for all the many times he supported me during my life, he's dropped things to help me, gone out of his way to be the best grandfather - I am so blessed... thank you!
DAY104 OF MY 365 DAY CHALLENGE...
TODAYS CHALLENGE : Today and a couple of other amateur photographers went out into a local forest to share, learn and challenge ourselves... I am self taught... and am at the stage of really wanting to push myself and step beyond my present limitations...AUTO MODE - so the others gave me a few quick tips and off we went... on full manual mode... I thought i was doing really well managing the F and the aperture, the pics seemed to be looking good through the limitations of my viewing LCD screen, however when i got home i realised that this thing called ISO would affect my pictures and my camera just happened to be set at HI which is the maximum setting possible, that is why my pics turned out grainy.... crappy way to learn this but what an amazing lesson... now i know yet another function of my camera and how to use it properly... these were some of the shots taken on the day, yes they are grainy but i wanted to share my learning curve with you... now i am using manual mode more and more and my photos are really coming along...
